The Remains of the Pit on Rua de D. Belchior Carneiro reveals that Macau is a city built upon overlapping cultures and histories. Underneath the ground lay countless relics, while the people of Macau live and spend their days above these remnants. Through architecture, we endeavor to express this relationship. The Macau World Heritage Exhibition Centre is an open building with two stories. The bottom level features a thick and inclusive space formed by ground expansion, while the upper level utilizes a lightweight arched roof to create a park space connected to Macau's urban base. By opening up to the city, visiting tourists can freely explore the unknown history buried beneath.
